This past week I needed to get rid of a bunch of wood from a shed re-roofing project that I'm doing. I figured that as long as I was burning up a bunch of wood, I may as well throw some large castings that I have laying around and melt them down into smaller, more usable pieces.
The set-up consisted of a steel 55 gallon drum with holes cut into the bottom.
A couple of castings that to be melted.
After a little while, the metal starts flowing out the bottom.
Here you can see the pile starting to build.
